The garden is divided into outdoor displays and several indoor greenhouses, which maintain a specific climate depending on the plants on display.
The main attraction of the Palmengarten are the huge greenhouses divided into several sections:
- Palmenhaus - a separate building with dozens of palm species
- Tropicarium - two connected greenhouses divided into several gardens of different habitats from rainforest to desert areas
Of the outdoor areas, the rose garden or rhododendron garden is the most popular.
If you want to explore the entire Palmengarten, expect to spend about 1.5 to 2 hours.

The Palmengarten is open every day throughout the year.
March to October

Admission prices for adults are as follows:
- 9 eur full day ticket
- 5 eur admission on weekdays after 18:30
Seniors over 67 years of age pay 8 eur and children and teenagers under 17 get in free.

How to get there
The gardens are about 25 minutes on foot from the centre, but are also very easy to get to by public transport.
The main entrance is on the east side only, where the following stops are the closest:
- U-Bahn - Westend station (approx. 650 metres)
- lines U6, U7
- Bus - Siesmayerstraße stop (approx. 200 metres)
