Frankfurter Dom

View from the Eiserner Steg to the Cathedral

The largest Roman Catholic cathedral is called Kaiserdom Sankt Bartholomäus and is located right in the Old Town.

It is the largest religious building in Frankfurt.

Gothic jewel with a 95-metre tower

The church is built in a monumental and very austere Gothic style with a brick facade typical of West German religious buildings.

The dominant feature is a single 95-metre high tower.

The present dome was completed in 1550, but was completely restored in the 1990s.

Visit the interior - entrance fees and opening hours

I definitely recommend visiting the beautiful interior as well. It doesn't stand out for its massive decoration, but for its clean gothic lines and brick walls and columns.

The interior of the dome is open to the public every day from 9:00-20:00.

Admission is free.

Breathtaking view from the tower: price and opening hours

The biggest attraction of the Frankfurt Dome is undoubtedly the observation deck on the tower, which is located at a height of around 66 metres.

From here, you can enjoy the best ever view of the modern Frankfurt skyline, the Main River and the southern part of the city.

The only way up to the observation deck is via a narrow spiral staircase with 328 steps.

The ticket price is 3 eur and is payable in the small house under the tower. It can be paid by card or cash.
