Raekoja plats

Raekoja plats is the main square of Tallinn's Old Town and the centre of the entire city.
It serves as a popular meeting point for tourists and locals alike, and you're sure to pass through the square at least once during your wanderings through Old Tallinn.
Town Hall with its slender tower
The main landmark of the square is the historic Town Hall, completed in 1404.
It is the oldest still functioning town hall building in the entire Scandinavian and Baltic region.
The Gothic Town Hall is decorated with a 64-metre high slender tower, which is one of the symbols of Tallinn, along with the towers of St. Olaf and St. Nicholas churches.
Medieval houses and restaurants
The perimeter of the square is lined with beautiful, colourful houses, mostly from the 14th to 16th centuries.
Many of their ground floors are used as tourist restaurants and cafes, but prices here are similar to anywhere else in the Old Town.
