Lufthansa Allegris: on which routes does it fly
The new Lufthansa Allegris cabin is one of the biggest changes to business and first class that Lufthansa has introduced in many years.
But finding a specific flight where you'll actually fly in the new cabin isn't exactly easy. Deployments are still limited and individual aircraft are appearing on different routes one by one.
I myself had the opportunity to try both Allegris First Class and Allegris Business Class on a long-haul flight, and finding just the right connection was probably the most difficult part of the whole planning process.
In this article I will therefore summarize the current overview of the routes and, most importantly, practical tips on how to get to know Allegris when booking.
Quick answer: which planes have Allegris?
At the moment, a fairly simple rule applies:
- Allegris First Class - only on certain routes from Munich and only on the Airbus A350
- Allegris Business Class - on routes from Munich in an Airbus A350 and on a few routes from Frankfurt also in a Boeing 787
The specific list of routes changes quite frequently, so it's worth checking the aircraft type for a particular flight.
Which routes are operated by Lufthansa Allegris First Class
First Class is by far the rarest Allegris option. Lufthansa has only a limited number of aircraft with this configuration and deploys them on a few long-haul routes.
Currently, only a few Airbus A350s are equipped with the new First Class and all of them fly only from Munich.
In the current summer schedule (29 March - 24 October 2026), Allegris First Class flies between these airports:
From Munich
- New York JFK - LH 410 / 411
- New York EWR - LH 412 / 413
- Chicago ORD - LH 434 / 435
- San Diego SAN - LH 466 / 467
- Bengaluru BLR - LH 764 / 765
- Shanghai PVG - LH 726 / 727
- Tokyo-Haneda HND - LH 714 / 715
From Frankfurt
Allegris First Class does not operate on any routes from Frankfurt in the 2026 season.

On which routes does Lufthansa Allegris Business Class fly
Business Class is now a bit more widespread than First - in addition to Airbus A350s, Allegris Business is gradually being deployed on Boeing 787-9s (but not Allegris First).
It is always important to choose a specific flight number. On some routes (for example Frankfurt - Los Angeles) there are several flights per day, but only one of them is equipped with Allegris seats.
In the current summer schedule (29 March - 24 October 2026), Allegris First Class flies between these airports:
From Munich
Same routes and cities as Allegris First Class (see list above).
From Frankfurt
- New York JFK (from June) - LH 404 / 405
- Los Angeles LAX (from June) - LH 450 / 451
- Austin AUS - LH 468 / 469
- Montreal YUL (from June) - LH 478 / 479
- Rio de Janeiro GIG - LH 500 / 501
- Bogota BOG - LH 542 / 543
- Lagos LOS - LH 568 / 569
- Malabo SSG - LH 568 / 569
- Cape Town CPT - LH 576 / 577
- Shanghai PVG - LH 728 / 729 (3 times a week only)
- Hyderabad HYD - LH 752 / 753
- Hong Kong HKG - LH 796 / 797
- Delhi DEL (from July) - LH 760 / 761

How to get to know Allegris when booking
Since most Lufthansa routes still fly the old business and first class configuration, it's essential to be able to tell if you're booking in the new Allegris.
The easiest way is to check three things:
1. The specific route
The flights on which Allegris is deployed are predetermined and fly the routes mentioned above.
However, this criterion is not 100%. It may happen that on some days an older aircraft is deployed or a change occurs and Allegris stops flying to a given destination (or starts to a new one).
1. Highlighted caption
If you book your flight directly on lufthansa.com, it's very easy to see if you're flying Allegris or not.
After selecting the destination and the date, a label is always highlighted in the blue box in the listing of all flights Allegris: new seat concept.
In that case, the flight in question operates an aircraft equipped with new seats.
3. Seatmap
The most reliable indicator if you book on a website other than lufthansa.com.
Allegris has:
- a significantly different seat layout
- different seat types in business class
- very specific First Class layout (only 3 seats)
As soon as the seatmap matches this layout, you are assured. On the Lufthansa website, the designation is given in advance, but you can also recognise Allegris by the seatmap when booking on other portals.
Here are some examples of what the seatmap looks like when booking on booking.com.

Allegris first vs. old first
4. Watch out for aircraft changes
Even if you have the correct configuration when booking, Lufthansa can change the aircraft. It's not common, but it does happen.
That's why it's worth it:
- Check your booking a few days before departure.
- check the seatmap again
Are you entitled to a refund if you change your flight type?
No. Even if you fly on a different product than the one you originally purchased, you are not automatically entitled to a refund. However, it depends on how flexible your ticket is, and I definitely recommend that you try contacting the Lufthansa reservations line to arrange a rebooking in any case.
My experience with Allegris Business and First Class
I was curious about my first Allegris flight mainly because of the cabin concept itself.
Lufthansa has taken a rather different approach than most of its competitors in Allegris Business Class - instead of single seats, it offers several options for space and privacy.
I flew business class from Munich to New York in October 2025:
In First Class, Lufthansa goes in the direction of absolute privacy in the form of a suite separated from the corridor by a door. A diametric difference from the old First Class.
I tried both types of First Class in November 2025 - the old First Class from Frankfurt to Tokyo and the new Allegris First back from Tokyo to Munich.

How Lufthansa plans to expand Allegris
Lufthansa is gradually taking over more aircraft and with that the number of routes is growing.
In real terms, this means:
- New routes will be added every year.
- First Class will expand more slowly than Business
The immediate plan for the 2026/2027 winter schedule is to deploy Airbus A350s from Frankfurt as well. Allegris First, which currently only flies from Munich, could finally be introduced from Lufthansa's largest hub.
If you are planning a flight in a year or two, the chances of Allegris will already be significantly higher than today.
Travel planning tips
If you have the opportunity and inclination to compare the old First Class product, try to combine your trip so that you have at least one direction of departure from Frankfurt.
This is because Lufthansa uses the iconic First Class Terminal for First Class passengers (both old and Allegris) at this airport, which I also had the pleasure of trying out.
But it's not just flight reviews that you'll find on our website, you'll also find information about transport to/from the airport or our experiences from destinations around the world.

Summary
Allegris is still a relatively new cabin and availability is limited.
Finding the right flight requires a bit of planning, but if you look at the aircraft type and seatmap, the chances of getting it right are quite high.
And if you've already managed to try Allegris, it's a product that's more different from the older generation of Lufthansa than it might first appear.
