Lufthansa in a nutshell
Lufthansa is a traditional and one of the world's largest airlines. It operates two main bases in Frankfurt and Munich with a wide range of destinations worldwide.
It is one of the founders of Star Alliance, the largest airline association, and majority owner of several European airlines(Austrian, Swiss, Brussels Airlines, etc.).
The company also operates two other subsidiary airlines, which share the same website, logo and aircraft livery, and for passengers there is no difference from flying with parent Lufthansa:
- Lufthansa CityLine (CL/CLH)
- Lufthansa City (VL/LHX)
In total, the fleet comprises over 350 aircraft of various types. For example, Lufthansa is the only European operator of the Boeing 747-8 and one of the two European operators of the world's largest transport aircraft, the Airbus A380.

Hi, Lufthansa used to threaten fines (surcharges) for the last segment not flown. Does it give any fines for a non-flown segment? Does any European airline give such fines? (E.g., Polynesia's Air Tahiti had a stated fee for a segment not boarded and not cancelled.) I only travel with the guidebook, and it would fit to skip the Vienna - Budapest segment.
I've skipped like 5 times at LH in the last 5 years and never anything. Personally, I think they deal with it in more obvious cases and also the moment you start to deal with them somehow (removing luggage, rebooking etc.) if you disappear anyway LH has bigger problems than dealing with this :D.. but of course it can happen and there have been a few cases. But I guess LH lost it in the end somehow?
Thank you fridgy, it also seems to me that a few years back she had such disputes and eventually lost them.
So maybe a little improvement in business LH

Hello, does anyone have any experience with LH compensation in case of pilots/ cabin crew strike? Today (Wednesday 15.4.) our flight for Friday (17.4.) from Prague to Alicante was cancelled. There are no replacements for the 17th or 18th of April, and it would be more or less pointless when we were supposed to fly back with them on the 19th of April. Am I entitled to compensation in addition to a refund of the ticket? Thanks
1. No need to post it here twice.
2. Experience and facts are 2 different things. The fact is that a strike by OWN employees entitles them to compensation because they could have influenced it.
