Maui's tallest waterfall, Waimoku Falls, 400 feet (122 meters) high, which plunges perpendicularly down a cliff face and is located right in the middle of the jungle, is the last stop on the Road to Hana for most travelers.

Waimoku Falls is located in West Maui, far from civilization, yet relatively easy to reach. Highway 360 also takes you to this completely uninhabited part of the island, where you can park for free at the Kipahulu Visitor Center.

From there, the signposted Pipiwai Trail follows the river up through the rainforest to the falls, which can be reached in 3.5km.

The trail is not too strenuous and can be done by less trained individuals. Although it is still uphill, the elevation gain is not extreme. Take a look at the route map.

The first part of the Pipiwai Trail passes through the beautiful Bamboo Forest.

Also, be sure to visit the Oheʻo Gulch Nature Reserve with its cascading waterfalls and natural pools at the trailhead near the parking lot.

For parking along the main road, pay 10 usd.
