The resort town of Kapa'a is the largest town on Kauai by population, although the most important economic center is Lihue to the south.

The town of Kapa'a is an ideal place to live - it has the most hotels, nice beaches, quiet surroundings, but at the same time complete facilities in the form of supermarkets, restaurants and shops with tourist and beach equipment.

Kapa'a is loosely connected to the neighbouring town of Wailua and is effectively one larger town.

Beaches in Kapaa

The entire coastline of the town is surrounded by sandy beaches perfect for swimming after trips or during relaxing days. On Kauai, you may come across the more spectacular beaches of the North Shore, but those in Kapa'a are the perfect place to relax a short drive away.

Fine golden sand covers all the local beaches, and the sea is open but calmer than on the north or west side of the island.

Indeed, Kapa'a's beaches are only a few steps from the town centre, so you'll have all the services at your fingertips.

Accommodation

The town of Kapa'a is considered the best place to stay on Kauai. You can shop here at the Safeway hypermarket, and other stores are also available for clothing, hiking gear, and more. It also has the highest concentration of accommodations on the island and therefore the lowest prices, although you'll never stay below 92 eur per night in a hostel here either.
