Hanalei Bay

Kauai's most beautiful beach is located on the north shore of the largest local bay, Hanalei Bay, and is the perfect place to relax and swim in the sea. It offers a reasonable amount of services, is spacious and safe, and is crowned by the stunning scenery of the remote Na Pali coast.
Swimming and beach facilities
Hanalei Beach lies in a horseshoe-shaped cove that protects you from the biggest waves and treacherous backwash currents, so swimming here is safe. At 3.5km long and over 200m wide, it's really spacious, and although it's one of Kauai's most visited beaches, you'll find plenty of privacy here.
The sandy part of the beach flows freely into a grassy area with trees providing welcome shade. However, you won't find any beach chair rentals or souvenir shops on the beach, but that's why it retains its rural charm.
- The surface of the beach - fine light sand
- Entrance to the water - gradual and without stones, the sea is relatively shallow about 50 meters from the beach
- Length of the beach - 3 km
- Width of the beach - 200 metres
- Deckchair rental - no

- Dining - snack stalls in the eastern part of the beach, restaurant in the nearby village of Hanalei

Hanalei Bay has ideal conditions for swimming, body-surfing on medium and safe waves and surfing for beginners. In the village of Hanalei you will find several surf equipment rental shops.
