One of the most famous singers of all time and frontman of Queen, Freddie Mercury was born in Stone Town, Zanzibar.

His birthplace can be found on one of the main pedestrian areas of Kenyatta Rode near the large Tembo B&B Apartments.

What will you see in the museum?

The Freddie Mercury Museum is very small and is actually only in two rooms.

You will only need 15-20 minutes to visit the museum.

In the main part you will find a lot of period photos, documents or replicas of Mercury's personal items.

The second part of the museum contains a small souvenir shop.

Admission and opening hours

The museum is open every day from 10:00-18:00.

The ticket price is quite high considering the size of the museum and is 10 usd / 24 000 tzs. You can pay with cash or card.
