The Crooked House
Initially not a building everyone loved, it later became the number one attraction that put the town of Sopot on the world’s tourist map. Yes, we’re talking about the famous Crooked House, known in Polish as Krzywy domek, which forms part of the local shopping centre.
Sopot’s Krzywy Domek is so popular that, according to Instagram statistics, it ranks among the top five most photographed places in Poland.
The Crooked House – a place that never sleeps
Just like the title of this chapter, this is also the official motto of the architects of the Crooked House. The building was completed in 2004 as part of a shopping centre and was intended from the outset to serve as a multi-purpose building.
At first glance, its extravagant architecture is meant to show that the entertainment possibilities inside are limitless.
The reality, however, is that the Crooked House is in fact a small shopping centre, just like hundreds of others. Inside, you’ll find a café, a games room, a few shops and a wall featuring the signatures of famous people who have visited the Crooked House.

How to get to the Crooked House?
You’ll find the Crooked House right in the centre of Sopot, on the main shopping street, Bohaterów Monte Cassino.
From the station – which is served every 20 minutes by S1 trains from Gdańsk and Gdynia – it’s a 300-metre walk to the house. The beach is then a further 200 metres away.
