Brzeźno Beach
The beach in the Brzeźno district is the most popular in the whole of Gdańsk, particularly due to its easy access by public transport, its length and its beautiful natural surroundings.
In this part of the beach, you can stroll along a pier roughly 100 metres long. Although the beach is relatively close to the city, it has a purely natural character.
It is separated from the houses by a sandy dune with mature trees, whilst in the northern part, Gdańsk’s largest park, R. Reagan Park, borders directly onto the beach.
Beach facilities
Brzeźno Beach itself is about 2 km long, but it flows seamlessly into the beaches of Jelitkowo and Sopot, which together form a continuous stretch of sandy coastline over 8 km long.
However, Brzeźno Beach is the best equipped. During the summer season, you’ll find stalls selling refreshments and beach equipment at the beach entrances, but don’t expect any large restaurants or bars. There are no sun lounger hire services here, nor are there any water sports on offer.
Generally speaking, the beaches in Gdańsk attract tourists more for long walks along the coast than for swimming, and Brzeźno Beach is absolutely ideal for this.
Accommodation by the beach
If you want to stay near the sea in Gdańsk, then the Brzeźno district is the ideal place.
The whole area is very peaceful, even in summer, yet you can reach the historic centre in under 25 minutes by tram.
Right by the beach, we recommend staying at the Dom Zdrojowy **** spa hotel or the Lival *** hotel, both with sea views.
How to get to Brzeźno Beach?
From the city centre, you can easily reach the beach by tram lines 3 and 5, which will take you to the Brzeźno Dom Zdrojowy stop (about 75 metres from the beach) in 20 minutes.
