Suma Sea World
Kobe Suma Seaworld is a large aquarium located on Suma Beach and a popular destination for families with children.
The large area is divided into several sections and you can keep the kids entertained for half a day.
What to see at Suma Sea World?
The aquarium has 3 main sections.
- Aqua Live - The largest 4-storey building filled with aquariums ranging from huge shark tanks to small tanks with colourful fish
- Orca Stadium - a large outdoor tank with a grandstand for the killer whale show
- Dophin Stadium - a large outdoor tank with a grandstand for the dolphin show
How much time to set aside?
The aquarium is large and I recommend setting aside at least 2 hours for the visit itself if you want to visit the killer whale or dolphin show, but more likely longer (2.5-3 hours).
If you are only interested in the aquarium section, 1 hour is enough.
Admission and opening hours
Open every day, usually 10:00-18:00.
For the exact schedule of the killer whale and dolphin shows, visit the official website kobesuma-seaworld.jp/schedule.
- 2 900 jpy - Adult admission

How to get there
The fastest transportation from downtown Kobe, Osaka or Himeji is by JR trains to Sumakaihinkōen Station, about a 5-minute walk away.
