Lesvos

The third largest island of Greece. In ancient times, it was the home of the famous poet Sappho, who described the local beauty in her Songs of Lesbos. Otherwise, the island is known for its excellent cuisine, the greatest delicacy being sardines, and its olive oil is considered one of the best. The areas of Eresos, Petra or Agiasos are very popular for bird watching.
