Jakarta Soekarno Hatta International Airport in a nutshell
Soekarno–Hatta Airport is named after Indonesia’s first president and ranks first in Indonesia in terms of passenger numbers, whilst also being one of the 35 busiest airports in the world.
It is situated 20 kilometres north-west of Jakarta in the Cengkareng region, which has earned the airport the three-letter IATA code CGK.
The most significant airlines operating out of Jakarta include Air Asia, Citilink, Garuda, Batik Air,Lion Air, Pelita Air and Super Air Jet.
Domestic flights throughout Indonesia account for the bulk of traffic, but Soekarno-Hatta Airport is also the country’s most important international hub, with direct flights to many countries in East and South Asia, Australia, Europe and Africa.
