Balneario Ejidal Mágico Bacalar
Balneario Ejidal Mágico is one of the largest and best-known public swimming pools in Bacalar.
It’s about a 10-minute walk from the main square, making it one of the most easily accessible options if you just want to have a quick swim in the lagoon.

The site offers a shallow entry into the water, a jetty, swings, slides, a restaurant and several places to sit.
However, it’s not a stylish, modern beach club – the facilities have a bit of a 1990s feel to them and some services are charged for separately. If you bear this in mind, it’s still a pleasant place to spend a few hours relaxing.
Entry costs 100 mxn and is payable in cash only. Sun loungers, parasols, life jackets and other activities may incur an additional charge.
For coffee or a meal, we recommend popping into the excellent Madre Masa just opposite.
