Linnahall

Linnahall

This abandoned concrete communist colossus was originally built for the 1980 Moscow Olympics as a place to watch the Olympic regatta.

The roof of the building is open to the public free of charge from the vast, crumbling amphitheatre complex, where there are beautiful views of the harbour and the city.

After the 1980 Olympics, Linnahall was converted into a Palace of Sports and partly a concert hall.

The building served its purpose until around 2000, and has since fallen into disrepair, attracting enthusiasts to the highly accessible Urbex.

In 2015, the decision was made to renovate Linnahall, but to this day it has not been started.
