Church of Cyril and Methodius
The largest and most significant monument in Burgas is the church dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius. The church is included on the list of ‘Bulgaria’s 100 Most Significant Monuments’.
Due to its appearance, the building is often referred to as a cathedral, although it does not hold this status, as the seat of the diocese is in the town of Sliven.

This Orthodox church was built between 1897 and 1907 on the site of a former small wooden church, which had been demolished.
The two bell towers rise to a height of 33 metres, and visitors are immediately struck by the rather unusual bottle-green colour of the façade.
Admission and opening hours
The church is open daily from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm.
