Alyosha Monument
The central Troykata Square lies in the middle of the Aleksandrovska pedestrian street and is dominated by a monument to the Unknown Soldier.
These monuments are generally known as ‘Alyosha’ in Bulgaria, and Burgas is no exception.

The Alyosha Monument was erected in 1953 in memory of the victims of the Second World War. At the top of the pylon stands a Soviet soldier with his left arm raised, and the entire monument is 18 metres tall.
A large fountain occupies the centre of the square, pleasantly cooling the large open space in summer.
Around the perimeter of the square are buildings from the 1960s, which house the regional court and a cultural centre.
