Burgas Beach
A beach stretching over 3 km runs along the entire eastern coastline of the town, reaching a width of up to 60 metres in places.
Burgas Beach is the ideal place to relax after a stroll through the city, or even to spend the whole day there. It is completely separated from the hustle and bustle of the city by a large green hill.
At the southern end of the beach is a popular pier offering beautiful sea views, as well as a monumental memorial to seafarers.
Beach facilities
Thanks to the beach’s length, you’ll always find more than enough space here, so there’s no risk of it becoming overcrowded.
The entry into the water is very gentle and safe, with fine sand and no stones. The water remains shallow for about 100 metres from the shore, making the beach ideal for families with young children.
Sun loungers and parasols
Sun loungers and parasols are available along the entire length of the beach and can be hired for 5 eur per item per day. A set of two sun loungers and a parasol will therefore cost 15 eur.
There are always plenty of sun loungers available, even in peak season. Simply take any free sun lounger and the staff will come to you. Payment is by cash only.
Staff are on duty from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm, but the sun loungers remain free to use throughout the night from 6.00 pm to 8.00 am.
Free sections
Most of the beach is freely accessible without the need to hire a sun lounger or parasol. You’ll find free-access sections along the entire length of the beach.
Toilets and showers
There are no public toilets on the beach, but you can use the toilets in the restaurants, some of which allow you to use them even if you do not order anything.
Freshwater showers are not usually available, mainly because most hotels are within a 10-minute walk of the beach.
Restaurants and shops
All along the beach, you’ll find mainly small bistros and stalls. Larger restaurants are located in the southern part of the beach, near the harbour.
Water sports
There isn’t a particularly wide range of water sports on offer on the beaches in Burgas, as there is very limited private boat traffic in the sea around the city.
Beachfront hotels
As virtually the entire beach is bordered by a large park, you’ll find hotels only at its southern end, near the harbour and the pier.
Here you can stay in highly rated, high-quality hotels, which are among the very best in Burgas.
- Marina Burgas Hotel *** – a modern, reasonably priced hotel right in the harbour and 100 metres from the beach
- Primoretz Grand Hotel & Spa ***** – a luxury hotel right on the beach
