Rhodes Airport has two terminals, which are, however, connected within a single building, and security checks lead to a single shared transit area.

The airport complex is modern and relatively small. It takes about 5 minutes to walk from one terminal to the other.

During the summer season, from May to September, you should expect a very limited number of seats, and the transit area in particular is often overcrowded.

Queues at security checks can be as long as 25 minutes or more.

Connecting flights

Rhodes is not typically a transit airport; however, Aegean Airlinesoffers connecting flights from Athens or Thessaloniki to the small islands of Kastellorizo, Karpathos and Kasos.

However, the terminal does not have a direct transfer facility, so you must always leave the transit area.

You’ll exit into the public area, go up to the first floor for security screening, and then make your way back into the transit area.

If you have a connecting flight on a single ticket (particularly withAegean Airlines), your luggage will be transferred automatically.

The Rhodes Airport terminal remains open 24/7.

However, spending the night inside the airport is extremely uncomfortable, as there are no comfortable seats or quiet areas.
