SAS Scandinavian Airlines in a nutshell
Scandinavian Airlines, more commonly known as SAS, is the national carrier for three countries at once. It is a joint project of Denmark, Sweden and Norway with bases in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo and smaller cities in Scandinavia.
SAS will move from Star Alliance to rival SkyTeam in 2024.
SAS operates a fleet of around 120 aircraft in blue and white Airbus A320 (all series), Airbus A330 and Airbus A350. On less busy routes, SAS also flies Embraer E190, Bombardier CRJ-900 and ATR 72 aircraft.

I have a SAS Go Light fare and the SAS website shows me that I am entitled to two bags per person - see attached print. Pelican, through whom I bought the tickets, again tells me that I am only entitled to one bag. So now I'm slightly confused as to what to believe:) I suppose the info on the SAS website is key.
Often these inaccuracies happen because the airline does not list the personal item as baggage. That's probably why Pelican only claims 1 standard carry-on bag.
Thanks:)
So I bought tickets from Prague to Kiruna next year for a weekend of aurora hunting. Our joy didn't last long, SAS changed the tickets not only in time but most importantly shortened our stay from 3 to 1 night.
Completely incomprehensible to me when they still offered the tickets ( at different times than I had ) on the original dates.
I decided to cancel the tickets according to the offer in the email, but the website did not show the reservation at all , where it would be possible to cancel or other actions ( only my trip where it would be possible to add services ) .
I had to download an app where it was possible to cancel .
It puzzles me when the flight calendar offers a flight x times a day, why did he postpone our flight by two days......
When a flight is postponed or cancelled the system automatically rebooks it and sometimes it can be completely pointless. If you wanted to fly, all you had to do was call them and they would change the flights to the way you wanted them...
For the writer, the idea that he could contact the airline is apparently incomprehensible...
@Jox , the writer is a moron who, with his level of English, wouldn't dare to make a phone call in that language.
Of course, I looked for other ways to contact customer support, unfortunately CHAT was only a robot AI that only gave general information and I couldn't find any other option besides phone......
I was annoyed by the non-functionality of the site , the inexperience of changing tickets ( I don't know if the original price remains ?) , the loss of the short connection and thus the total flight time - which was one of the motivations ( including the price) to buy this ticket.
Those so afflicted usually have no trouble finding a victim with the appropriate language to govern, who will solve the problem for them. 🙂 Otherwise, you can connect to a live agent on chat and there are also translators.
It's just that stupid... I canceled award tickets, according to the site the fee was 25 euros per ticket, I was fine with that. Finally out of laziness I cancelled in the app and no fee, miles back and taxes the next day on the account👍.
Hi, does anyone have any current experience of whether Flying Blue benefits are recognised after SAS joined Skyteam? I have Silver and should therefore have baggage allowance, which the SAS app doesn't show me. So I don't know if they don't recognize it or if they haven't linked the systems yet. 🤷
So the key is to make sure it's not on the Smart Tariff.
So in the tariff it's SAS Go Light, which is the cheapest one. It's just that on Skyteam, even the cheapest fare should have baggage. It works like that on KLM, AirFrance, Korean,... but I don't know if it works on SAS anymore.
On paper it should be so, but practice is obviously different, even for people with elite plus... The sure thing is a machine gun, so call or write.
You had a SAS GO Light, that ticket has an exception to it, when you have SAS GO Light ticket then your benefits from the bonus program
you are using will not provide you with extra baggage for free. In this case you needed to pay for the baggage.
This is what the Skyteam official website say:
"One additional bag on top of bags included in ticket conditions (except 'Go Light' Tickets).
The weight of the extra bag mirrors the weight of the bag included in the booking class in case of 'piece concept'. 20kg in case of 'weight concept'."
Link to that website: https://www.skyteam.com/en/frequent-flyers/
We look forward to welcoming you on board again when given the opportunity!
Thanks!
So I'm sending an actual experience. SAS has integrated and a few weeks ago it even started showing on the app that I have free baggage on Flying Blue Gold, even on the Go Light fare.
Hello and please advise - information.....
SAS has changed my flight times again, this time I would hate to cancel the flight, but would try to change...
The sent times of the original flights are incorrect (!) , the new proposed times do not make sense especially in terms of dates , maybe the Copenhagen-Prague flight should be +1, i.e. 17.6. ...
Moreover, in the current flight calendar the flight 16.6. is not listed at all, the nearest is 18.6. and that with arrival in Prague +1 ( 19.6.) in the morning.
This time I want to try to solve it with the help of a translator and chat, I am looking for possible alternatives in advance.... If I want on another day, when there is already a different price today, will I pay the difference or the original price already paid will be valid ??? ( of course in the same category)
Sent info from SAS :
Your original flight(s)SK 1293 16 Jun 2026 Nuuk GOH-Copenhagen CPH 09:05 - 23:05 ( incorrectly stated!!)
SK 176116 Jun 2026 Copenhagen CPH-Prague PRG 18:55 - 20:15
Proposed flight alternativesSK 1293 16 Jun 2026Nuuk GOH-Copenhagen CPH 15:20 - 23:05
SK 1761 16 Jun 2026 Copenhagen CPH-Prague PRG 18:55 - 20:15 ( date ?? )
I would be grateful for any advice and opinion.....
On 16 June there is currently a flight from GOH to CPH at 15:20 and it lands at 23:05, so on that day you can't catch the flight to Prague because it leaves at 18:55.
So find on the website sas flights that suit you can be a day or even a few days earlier or later. Prepare more alternatives which would suit you.
Then you call them and tell them you had a change in booking on their end and would like to adjust, tell them the dates you would like to fly and they will offer you the new flights.
The price of the new flights doesn't matter, they can be much more expensive if the change is on their end you won't pay anything. If they are cheaper they won't refund the difference....
Sometimes it's fine to move both the flight there and the flight back for free and other times they will only allow you to move the flight where the change was made.....
Hey, Janick!
Thank you for your reply. I don't understand that there are errors in the changes sent, the original Nuuk-Copenhagen flight has the original departure time and the new arrival time. In the summary schedule the Nuuk - Prague flights are in reverse order ?!
I'm afraid to approve this, it doesn't make sense to me.
When I search for alternatives in the calendar, the flights on Tuesday Nuuk - Copenhagen ( e.g. 16.6.) are available , but when I enter Nuuk -Prague for 16.6. it is highlighted in red that the flights are not available. Flights from Copenhagen to Prague on 17.6. are available.
Please ask again ,
do I have to search for alternatives only in the Nuuk - Prague flight calendar or can I search for Nuuk - Copenhagen and Copenhagen - Prague separately ? Would this be all within one ticket ( booking ) ? I would not like to have a separate ticket for each trip separately because of possible other changes...
Thanks a lot and sorry to bother you with such questions.
Don't worry that they spell it wrong, it's great for you now that you can choose almost any new flight combination and have a solid chance of getting approved. Write to them clearly that you disagree with the change and suggest another option - and write to them. If the result is, for example, an overnight stay in Copenhagen, you could try suggesting that they pay for your hotel for that night as well. If there are flights via other cities, you could also try suggesting a different connecting point (for example, somewhere you haven't been to before and where there would be a chance to walk around the city for a while). It's not certain they'll agree to it, either yes or no, and the conversation will then move on to either another change or towards cancelling the ticket and refunding the money. You want to communicate nicely, politely, but clearly and strictly and don't agree to anything until you're happy.
Lukas888 thanks for the reply. There aren't many options there, They moved the Nuuk - Copenhagen flight to a single time with arrival in Copenhagen always 23:05 . The other flights to Prague are in the morning so it's always an overnight flight. From Nuuk, SAS has maybe only one route and that is to Copenhagen.
I don't know what the chances are for that overnight, but thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try. This change makes my trip both longer and more expensive.
