Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport in a nutshell

Istanbul - Blue Mosque

The airport, named after Turkey's first female military pilot, is located about 36 km from central Istanbul in the Asian part of the city.

It's not nearly as big as the airport Istanbul IST on the other side of the Bosphorus, but it's still one of the busiest in the Middle East.

Pegasus Airlines, a major low-cost carrier, has its base here and AJet operates one of its main bases at the airport.

The majority of flights from Sabiha Gökcen Airport are to European destinations, cities in the Middle East or North Africa.
