Shops and supermarkets
Like any large international airport, Sabiha Gökcen is equipped with many shops of luxury fashion brands, souvenir shops and duty free shops.
Most of the shops are in the central area immediately after the security check.
You will also find convenience stores in the public area:
- Airport Market: grocery store - arrivals hall on the right, open 24/7.
- Pharmacy - departure hall, public area, open 24/7
Dining options
The terminal is equipped with a large number of restaurants, including fast-food outlets such as KFC and McDonald's.
The almost unlimited choice of a mix of cafes, better restaurants and fast food is definitely even greater in the public area, where there is a food court and several other restaurants in the departures hall, as well as several 24-hour fast-food outlets in the arrivals hall.
Several cafes and bakery stalls can be found at the passage to the metro station.
There is also a large food court immediately after passing through security and a duty free shop, but it tends to be more crowded than the restaurants in the public area.
Further on, there are only small cafes and kiosks at the departure gates.
In the public area there are for example the following restaurants:
- Burger King - open 5:00-2:00
- McDonald's - open 24/7
- Starbucks - open 24/7
You will also come across fast food places with traditional Turkish delicacies, especially kebabs.
Most snack bars remain open 24/7 after security checks.
Luggage storage
You can store your luggage in the two lockers in the arrivals hall on the far left towards the metro station.
They are open 24/7 and the 24-hour fee ranges from 360 try for cabin baggage to 565 try for large checked baggage.
ATMs and exchange offices
There are a large number of currency exchange offices at Sabiha Gökcen Airport. We found the best exchange rates at the exchange office right by the baggage claim belts still in the transit area.
ATMs of the regular Turkish banks can be found in large numbers in the arrivals hall and in the corridor to the metro station.
Showers
Public showers are available after passport control and are operated by Kepler together with the capsule hotel: keplerclub.com.
The cost per shower is 15 eur and it is advisable to book in advance on keplerclub.com.
Luggage wrapping
There are several kiosks in the departure lounge where you can have your luggage wrapped in protective film for a fee 10 eur.
You can pay by card, euro or Turkish lira equivalent.
Drinking water
There are no drinking water fountains at Sabiha Gökcen Airport and the water coming from the washbasins in the toilets is not potable.
Smoking facilities
There are outdoor terraces, especially for smokers, after the security check in the domestic and international sections.

For some time now, wifi is not limited to 60 minutes, it works longer.
As for the drinking water dispenser, one is now located near gate 202.
The airport is generally very crowded, there is a long queue outside security (but it goes by quickly), there are few toilets, gate numbers are not announced until 90 minutes before departure, parts of the airport near the smoking area are smoky.
I would add that you go through security when transferring, where there is no need to remove liquids and water in your luggage is fine.
Oh, and there is no clear information at the metro entrance on how to buy a ticket. There's some sort of transport card machine, but those may be sold out.
Premium lounge Plaza, used free of charge thanks to priority pass , otherwise 65.-eu. Entry is limited to 2 hours. Soft drinks water, juice, cola, fanta, coffee, tea. Alco drinks beer, red and white wine. Food pretty limited choice, but they were probably fed up - full of people. Heated smoking room, very clean toilets. Value for money? I don't know, fine on free entry and if you're going with a guy who wants a beer, actually. The price of beer at the airport is 17-20.- eu
The only drinking water fountain at gate 202. Pretty long line in the afternoon
There's another one on the other side, by the gates, I think 30x. But it was just a little bit of piss, a pint is fun for at least 10 minutes. There's also one drinker in the transit area, before you go to the security one at the transfers. That was flowing normally.
Between 204 and 205 is another.
Anyone tip which ATM gives no fee or minimum fee please? :)
Ziraat bank no fee.
Thank you! Thank you!
Ziraat Bank agrees, except that this is common knowledge and everyone withdraws there, so their ATMs are often out of money. Then I'd try PTT and also Halkbank, which last time also went fee free (Partners bank).
They also pack luggage in the luggage room - prices are not moderate.
There are showers at the airport - it is operated together with the Kepler Club capsule hotel. https://www.keplerclub.com/ Entrance to LK and PP for 3 hours. Turn left after the passport counter or walk through the entire foodcourt.
I want to buy a sim, what are the opening hours of the phone shops?
Do I have to book to leave luggage in the luggage room at the airport?
How much does it cost for 4 suitcases 10kg approx. 7 days?
Thank you
Advance booking is not required.
Fees are per bag and 24 hours according to the current price list. Please allow approximately 150 TLR per day per bag.
We had the "trip" through this airport twice during transfers in November. It was really enough and never again (btw, Pegasus base). A totally overcrowded hell with people sitting and waiting everywhere you can, in all corridors, corridors. On the return flight we unfortunately had to spend about 7 hours here due to the delay of the connecting flight, so I had time to find reviews. We enjoyed everything mentioned in the reviews that day. Total overcrowding and a complete lack of toilets, practically always a queue even on the guys. The prices of something absolutely ulitle (beer in a can 18 to 23E, small cola I think 10, coffee 8). Gate announcements with a bidou 90 minutes in advance. And when you get there, you find that there are suspiciously few people. Well, that's because the gate has changed in the meantime, and you're walking halfway across the airport back to another one. And there's 180 people crowding the ramp at half to a third the rate of the other place. I always thought international airports had to meet certain standards. But this was going back 50 years...
I sign in full. A double similar experience I think cured me of Pegasus actions with the move to SAW.
I have to agree. Already before Covid - at that time they boasted an annual number of 35 million passengers, at that time with only one runway - the terminal was packed practically non-stop with overloaded services. And now it's another 10 million more passengers, growing at an average rate of about 20% per year for the last 5 years. Pegasus has plans to add another 100 planes in about 5 years + there are quite a few more connections of other low cost airlines, Ajet and foreign... There it will hopefully burst by the time they build more terminals :o)
The capacity of the one under construction is reportedly only 25 million, so the overcrowding is not just an optical illusion. Great idea to build a runway that will raise the potential capacity from 40 to 80 aircraft movements per hour, without expanding the terminal at the same time
