Lufthansa Business Class A319 (PRG-MUC)
In October 2025, we travelled from Prague to New York to try out the new Lufhansa Allegris Business Class on an Airbus A350.
We were connecting in Munich for a long-haul flight, so we were looking at one of the shortest flights in the Lufthansa network, a 266km flight from Prague to Munich.
How much service in business class can you get in about 30 minutes of pure flight time?
Buying business class
The Airbus A319 flight between Prague PRG and Munich MUC was part of a long-haul trip to New York.
I paid for the ticket with my miles from Aegean Airlines' Miles+Bonus program, details of which I discuss in this review.
If I wanted to buy a one-way ticket purely between Prague and Munich, usually the business class price is around 330 eur.

Check-in at the airport
Check-in is only at the Prague airport, there is no transit zone in Munich.
We are already at the airport 3.5 hours before departure, but since Lufthansa has several daily departures from Prague, check-in is possible all day.
We don't wait a minute at the priority counter and our luggage is checked through to our final destination.
Erste lounge and boarding
Business class passengers travelling with Lufthansa can use the Erste lounge in Prague free of charge, but only if the lounge is not full, which happens quite often.
The lounge is below average for major European airports and I describe it in detail in the Erste Lounge Review.
Boarding is standard by zone and the order of boarding is strictly adhered to.
We boarded in zone 2, one of the first to board.
Cabin and seats - European classics
Is it even worth describing business class on a European flight in detail?
Almost all airlines are the same. Standard seats as in economy class, but with the difference that the middle seat always remains unblocked and unoccupied.
Lufthansa is no different.
On European flights, business class passengers get no amenity-kit or other extra services.
Food during a 30-minute flight
While I didn't expect anything from the seats and comfort, I was really curious about the service.
The flight from Prague to Munich is really short and literally only a few minutes in the air.
After the crew got away with the first service - i.e. one small bottle of water - I became convinced that the food would be cut to an absolute minimum and we would get a box of chocolates at most.
But in the end I am very pleasantly surprised.
Immediately after boarding the flight level we get a full service. Unfortunately there is no choice, so everyone gets salmon with a tasty quiche and chocolate mousse.
On top of that, unlimited consumption of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages - limited of course by the very short flight time.
Just before landing we still get a small stylish chocolate.
My rating
The hard product, i.e. the seats and cabin, is not worth rating at all. In this respect in business class too extra compared to economy class you only get a free seat next to you.
I was pleasantly surprised by the refreshments on such a short flight though.
The service was very professional and the crew managed to serve all business class passengers, including the repeat beverage service, even within a few minutes of flying level.
Of course, there is no point in paying business class on a flight from Prague to Munich, but as a connection on a long haul flight, for me a product that will not impress, but will not offend either.
What other flights have we experienced?

I get a similar impression from my experience with LH and Swiss business on short haul flights - and actually, seeing the relatively low business prices around Europe sometimes, who can appreciate (and justify) the combination of lounge, priority boarding (yeah, that's about nothing), the feeling of more personalized service, the security of a free seat next to you, and most importantly, better and more "complete" food and especially luggage at a high baggage allowance (if that's what he or she needs), I feel that the "European business" can sometimes be quite worth the money as well as the miles. This is especially true if it's a connecting flight, which means an extra lounge on the transfer and the same on the return. Flight enthusiasts can deliberately combine multiple connections - but that again costs some extra taxes. With Swiss I found the business on the short flight even a bit better (well, it was also a bit longer than the flight to/from MUC), mainly because of the possibility to book online in advance from a much wider range of options even from ZRH. If you have the money (money, miles or both), give it a try, it has some added value because of the nice feeling of having indulged in something extra :-)
