Let yourself be carried away by the romantic atmosphere of the small fishing town of Marsaxlokk , where time has stood still and which still somewhat resists modern times.

Even today, fishing is traditionally the main livelihood of many locals. The colourful luzzu fishing boats moored in the harbour, as they did decades ago, give the town its unique character.

Take a stroll along the harbour

Even the locals make trips to this charming town, which makes Marsaxlokk even more authentic.

The church of Our Lady of Pompeii dominates the town, as does the romantic promenade with its many small restaurants.

At the same time, dozens, perhaps hundreds, of traditional "luzzu" boats are moored just off the promenade.

Beaches and reefs

The coastline at Marsaxlokk is dominated by photogenic rocky white cliffs dropping steeply into the sea and providing spectacular views.

Among the natural attractions stands out the small bay of St. Peter' s Pool with its beautiful rocky beach and crystal clear sea. St. Peter's Pool is a good beach especially for lovers of nice views and photogenic surroundings. The entrance to the sea is very rocky and the sea is deep.

Near the beach there is a small free car park located just behind the Delimara power station.

The distance of St. Peter's Pool from Marsaxlokk is about 3 km and the beach is only accessible by car.
