Xlendi

It is dominated by a relatively narrow bay, which nevertheless boasts perfectly crystal-clear water that is perfect for swimming during the summer months. Xlendi has a full range of facilities, including numerous restaurants, shops and hotels.

Impressive cliffs
However, the area around the bay is the most impressive. On the left-hand side, you can walk along the coast all the way to the medieval Xlendi watchtower, from where you’ll be treated to views of the open sea.
Gozo Coastal Walk runs through the village, so the footpaths are well maintained.
On the right-hand side of the bay, you can climb up the adjacent cliff, from where you’ll enjoy magnificent views of the entire bay. You’ll also come across the enchanting Caroline Cave here.
Xlendi is one of the best spots for watching sunsets on the whole of Gozo.
Boat trips and other activities
In the bay, you can go for a ride on a small boat, hire a kayak or rent a jet ski and explore the surrounding area from the water.
Some sightseeing cruises around the whole island or trips to Dwejra Bay also depart from Xlendi.

Beaches and swimming
Right in the centre of Xlendi, in the middle of the promenade, you’ll find a small sandy and pebbly beach. Xlendi isn’t your typical seaside resort where you’d go for a swim. The beach is really small (measuring approx. 5 x 10 metres) and is more suitable for a quick dip.
There are free showers by the beach.
