The bay is surrounded by small cliffs, which are easily accessible in several places. The village is well equipped with restaurants, shops and diving centres.
Beaches and places of interest
Swimming is only possible on a few small beaches in the centre and around the edges of the bay, where the access to the sea is rocky. Marsalforn is therefore better suited as a place to stay and a base for exploring northern Gozo than as a beach destination.
About 1 km west of the centre, the picturesque salt flats begin.
If you fancy a short hike, head for the nearby hill of Tas-Salvatur, at the top of which stands a statue of Christ. You’ll be rewarded with a 360° view of the surrounding countryside.
The only small sandy beach can be found in the beautiful Xwejni Bay, roughly 1 km west of the centre of Marsalforn.
