Palermo Falcone-Borsellino Airport in a nutshell
Sicily’s second-largest airport was named after two prominent judges who fought against the Mafia in the 1980s: Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino.
The terminal is located in the village of Punta Raisi, about 35 km west of the centre of Palermo.
Palermo Airport is mainly used by low-cost airlines, with Ryanair operating the most flights to around 30 destinations across Europe.
You can also buy flights to Palermo from Italian and European destinations, largely through airlines such as easyJetor Volotea. Major network carriers such as ITA Airways, British Airways and Lufthansa also fly to Palermo.
