Sicily's second largest airport was named after two prominent judges who fought against the Mafia in the 1980s, Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino. The terminal is located in Punta Raisi, about 35 km west of the centre of Palermo.

Palermo Airport is mainly used by low-cost airlines, with Ryanair having the most flights to around 30 destinations across Europe.

Flights to Palermo to Italian and European destinations are also widely available from easyJet (search for flights at easyjet.com) or Volotea (search for flights at volotea.com). Major network airlines such as ITA Airways, British Airways and Lufthansa also fly to Palermo.
