Luggage storage
Luggage lockers are located in the public areas of Terminals 1 and 2. They are open 24/7 and cost 250 mxn for a full day’s storage. Payment is by cash only.
- Terminal 1 – Hall E2, 1st floor
- Terminal 2 – 2nd floor between exits 3 and 4
ATMs and currency exchange: which is better value?
There are a large number of ATMs from major Mexican banks in both terminals.
If you use a card with no currency conversion fees – such as Revolut – then withdrawing from an ATM is better value than using a currency exchange. You just need to bear in mind that all Mexican banks charge a withdrawal fee of around 180 mxn.
The exchange bureaux at MEX airport offer surprisingly favourable rates, but I still found it cheaper to withdraw money from an ATM using my Revolut card.

Shops and supermarkets
Both terminals are well-stocked with shops selling duty-free goods, luxury fashion, accessories and travel essentials. There are plenty of newsagents selling newspapers, drinks and sweets.
A large number of shops remain open 24/7.
Travellers often look for food shops where they can buy snacks cheaply and quickly before their flight or after arrival on their way to the hotel.
In both terminals, you’ll find 7-Eleven, Oxxo, Circle K and Chilim Balam convenience stores in many locations across the public and transit areas. All branches are open 24/7.
Pharmacies combined with chemists’ shops are also useful.
