United Airlines is one of the largest airlines in the world and, along with American Airlines and Delta, competes for the largest airline in the world in terms of passengers, destinations and aircraft. United is headquartered in Chicago, but also has major bases in New York, Washington, Houston, Denver, Los Angeles and Guam in the Pacific. The company has a fleet of more than 1,000 aircraft from many manufacturers.
