Brooklyn Bridge Park
The park under the Brooklyn Bridge is one of my favourite places in New York - I love the view and it's one of the best views of Downtown Manhattan and the Financial District.
Hotels with a view of New York
The park covers 34 acres and has a beautiful pedestrian promenade right along the East River as well as large grassy areas perfect for picnics.
Our recommendations
- Visit the park early in the morning at sunrise or after dark
- Combine your visit with a visit to the Dumbo neighborhood, where there are great views of the Manhattan Bridge

Relax with divine views
Brooklyn Bridge Park is a great place for a morning or night stroll in nice weather.
It is in the morning that the skyscrapers of Manhattan are best lit by the rising sun.
After dark, you can admire the skyline of the Financial District with its buildings lit up.
Between the park and the Brooklyn Bridge, you'll find several cafes or local fast food joints.
Squibb Park Bridge
Interesting views not only of distant Manhattan, but also of one of the Brooklyn Bridge pylons, can be seen from the short pedestrian bridge in Squibb Park, which is directly adjacent to Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Cross this bridge on your way from the High Street subway station (see route map).
How to get there
Brooklyn Bridge Park is easily accessible by subway. But it is also popular to walk from Manhattan across the famous Brooklyn Bridge.
Use the following subway stations:
- York St (approx. 1,200 metres) - Orange Line F
- High St (approx. 850 metres) - blue lines A, C
- Clark St (approx. 1,000 metres) - red lines 2, 3
