Where to stay in Molokai

Molokai is the most sparsely populated of Hawaii's Big Islands, with the least amount of accommodations.
Therefore, we recommend booking well in advance.
Where to stay on Molokai
Molokai is a very sparsely populated island, and there are virtually only two locations to choose from, where hotels or private apartments operate. Both of these can only be reached from the airport by rental car.
Kaunakakai is the largest village on the island, where you will find all the necessary facilities and is an ideal starting point for travelling around the island. In Kaunakakai you can stay in 2 classic hotels:
- Hotel Molokai (prices between around 183 eur)
- Castle Molokai Shores (prices from 220 eur)
Kepuhi is a tiny resort town on the west coast of Molokai where you'll find the nicest beaches. You can stay here in one classic hotel and several private apartments:
- Kepuhi Beach Resort (hotel, rates from 165 eur)
- Molokai Ocean View Condo (apartment, prices from 147 eur)
Molokai accommodation prices
Regular hotel and condo prices on Molokai are not out of line with the Hawaiian average. For one night in a 2-bed room, you'll pay around 147 eur.
However, ideally book your accommodation on Molokai as far in advance as possible. Due to very limited capacity, it can easily happen that not a single room will be available on the entire island at the time of your intended visit.
