What to see in Sweden

Abisko is a beautiful national park with the best aurora viewing conditions in Sweden. In summer, Abisko offers an excellent opportunity to explore the Swedish mountains under the midnight sun. Kungsleden is the "royal road", which is a hiking route in northern Sweden. It is approximately 440 kilometres long, located between Abisko in the north and Hemavan in the south. It passes through one of Europe's largest remaining wilderness areas. Every 15-25 km or so there is a hut where you can stay overnight for a fee. It is ideal to have a tent with you. The route can of course be shortened.

In Falun you can visit the very interesting former copper mines. Today, Falun also produces the so-called "Falun red", which used to be a by-product of the copper mine. This is the colour that decorates typical Swedish wooden houses.

Kiruna is the northernmost town in Sweden, which was built to mine iron ore. Nowadays, the town has moved a few kilometres away as the mine expands. The mine is very interesting and can be visited.
