Among the most visited sites in Las Cañadas del Teide National Park are the Roques de Garcia rock formations. However, most visitors only stop at the so-called ‘Finger of God’, Roque Cinchado, and carry on, which is a great shame, as the crater of the ancient volcano is full of interesting rock formations that are well worth seeing.

At the tourist centre by the main road, you can pick up a free map of the trails and set off on one of several circular walks through the rock formations. As well as the Roques de Garcia, you can admire the famous and majesticLa Catedral, which is very popular with climbers.

The circular route around the entire area of rock formations is about 4 km long and the path is more or less comfortable and flat.

How to get there

There is a free car park at the starting point of the walking trails, which you can reach via the TF-21 main road. It is 45 km from Los Cristianos and 67 km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
