Barranco del Inferno

Barranco del Inferno

Barranco del Inferno, translated as Hell's Gorge, is a beautiful gorge through rocky, inhospitable countryside near the resort of Costa Adeje. A hiking trail along a stream and an irrigation canal takes you through a wild landscape of narrow gorges, vertical stone walls and many endemic plant species.

The cheapest accommodation in Tenerife

The trail starts at the car park above the town of Adeje and winds through the gorge for 3.5km to a high waterfall, from which you will retrace the same route. While the elevation profile is not too challenging, the path is over rocky terrain, so good hiking boots are a must.

Reservation and price

Due to the precious nature and the limited space, the Barranco del Inferno can only be accessed by prior reservation online at the nature reserve's website: barrancodelinfierno.es.

In high season, reservations must be made even weeks in advance. Entry costs 11 eur.
