At over 1 km long, Spiaggia di Mondello is one of the longest urban beaches; it is also wide enough that you’ll always find plenty of space here, despite being one of the most visited beaches in Sicily during the peak season.

The beach is covered infine white sand, and the pair of hills encircling the small bay create a stunning panorama and a feeling that you’re far from civilisation. However, you’ll find every conceivable amenity here, from sun lounger hire to bars and restaurants, as well as a range of water activities and sports.

How to get there

Several Palermo public transport routes run right past the beach. For the city centre, route806 is best; for the outlying areas of the northern city centre, routes 544, 603 and 606 are also useful. A 90-minute ticket from a newsagent costs 1,40 eur, whilst an all-day ticket costs 3,50 eur.
