Visa on Arrival

In the arrivals hall before passport control, you must first purchase a visa collection from any bank branch for 25 usd.

Some banks (such as Banque Misr) allow you to pay by card, but for a fee of about 2 usd. So paying in dollars is preferable.

You can also pay in Euros, but usually at a 1:1 exchange rate, i.e. 25 eur.

Internet and wi-fi

Wi-fi in the terminal is free and without time limit.

Don't delay buying a physical sim card upon arrival. Get an Egyptian data e-sim quickly and easily on the web airalo.com.

You can also buy physical sim cards in the arrivals hall for calls from several Egyptian mobile operators.

Shops and dining

There are no shops or restaurants in the public area of the airport apart from the mobile operator branches mentioned above.

After security check you can use the large duty free shop and food court with a wide selection of restaurants, cafes or local fast-food.

In general, there are plenty of dining options at the airport, but all of them are located in the transit zone.

ATMs and exchange offices

Several banks have a branch in the arrivals hall before you pass through passport control, where you can exchange money at the official exchange rate.

Money can also be withdrawn from ATMs of regular Egyptian banks. The withdrawal fee is around 300 egp, but Banque Misr, for example, allows withdrawals without a fee.

There is only a Euronet ATM in the public area.

Luggage storage

There is no luggage storage in the terminal. There are also no automatic lockers.

You won't find public luggage storage anywhere in downtown Cairo either, but you can store your luggage for free at the GEM - Grand Egyptian Museum, located halfway between Sphinx Airport and Cairo.
