Transfer at Sharjah Airport
Sharjah Airport is served by one terminal common to all flights. The airport is relatively small and very clear.

The check-in desks and arrivals hall are on the ground floor, while the security checkpoint and transit area are on the 1st floor.
After security and passport control, you will find yourself in a large lobby with many restaurants and shops. Then there is a long corridor with boarding bridges to the planes, where you won't get much service.

Transfer between flights
Air Arabia offers many guaranteed connecting flights via Sharjah Airport.
The transfer is very clearly signposted and also quick due to the small size of the terminal. You can realistically transfer from one aircraft to another in around 25 to 45 minutes.
If you have purchased a transfer as part of a single ticket, your luggage will be transferred automatically. Follow the "Transfer" signs and go straight to the connecting departure gate.
With a guaranteed transfer, you do not leave the transit area and do not go through passport control. Therefore, no visa is required for the United Arab Emirates.
- Average transfer time - 15 to 30 minutes
- Security check - yes
- Passport control - no
- Baggage on transfer - will be transferred automatically

Hello,
I have a question regarding connecting flights. If I don't have a connecting flight between flights, do I need to collect my checked baggage? I have an overnight stay booked in Sharjah.
Additionally, I would like to ask about carrying alcohol in checked baggage. I have heard that alcohol is prohibited in the emirate of Sharjah. Is alcohol in luggage actually controlled at the airport there?
Thank you in advance for your answer.
Yes, if you have two flights booked separately (plus an extra night in Sharjah), you must pick up your luggage.
Alcohol in checked baggage will not matter as long as it meets the maximum import limits (maximum 4 litres). However, you must not remove alcohol from your checked baggage anywhere in public in the Emirate of Sharjah.
Thank you for the information because I have read that to the emirate of Shardz it is not allowed to carry alcohol at all, even one bottle, it is supposedly strictly forbidden and involves confiscation, financial penalties, etc. I just wanted to ask whether they strictly enforce this or rather if someone does not exaggerate with the amount does not show it officially as you wrote then there is no problem with it, I mean I wanted to take two bottles of Polish alcohol as a gift to sril lanke but if I expose myself to some consequences because of that I will not risk it.
hello I have a connection between two Air Arabia flights to SHJ Sharjah of just one hour to go to Colombo .. only 1h of connection do you think it is feasible? do I have to run a lot? in case of a small delay of the first flight the next one will be informed and waiting for us? thank you if you reassure me so I buy tickets
Hello, a 1 hour connection is feasible when the airline offers it. If the first flight is delayed, the connecting flight is either delayed and waiting for you and if the delay is longer, you will be rebooked on the next flight free of charge.
thanks then I'll go ahead and book
Hello,
we're going to Sri Lanka with a stopover in Sharjah. We have about 8 hours for the transfer. Is it realistic to visit the centre of Sharjah in that time? Is there anything to see there?
Thanks

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi, I have a transfer in Sharjah and just want to change trains, I would be there for about 2 hours 15 minutes, do I need a transit visa? :)
Hi, you don't need a visa - you don't go through immigration control. And for German citizens, it would not even be needed in the case of an exit in the UAE :)
Thank you for your answer. It is good Air Arabia will rebook me to another flight in case of delay. From your experience how long would we wait for rebooked/another flight to Bangkok, average time?
They fly twice a day. 7:50 a 21:50.
Hi,
I fly from Vienna to Bangkok with Air Arabia via Sharjah. I have only 55 minutes between flights in Sharjah, is that enough. WHat happen if flight from Vienna is late?
thank you
Hi, yes, a transfer is sufficient. However, if there is a delay, the airline will rebook you on the next available flight to Bangkok free of charge.
Good afternoon,
I wanted to ask what happens if I have a connecting flight that takes 15 hours? Is it not possible to leave the airport?
It's possible, no problem.
Thank you very much for your reply. I have one more question about the luggage, will it have to be collected and re-submitted ?
You'll have to arrange that at departure.
