Transfer at Mauritius Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport

Mauritius

Mauritius Airport uses only one terminal common to all flights. The building is modern and spacious and there is plenty of seating after security.

The check-in desks for all international flights are located on the 1st floor, as well as the international security checkpoint.

Flights to Rodrigues Island are checked in on the ground floor to the left of the arrivals hall when viewed from the outside.

Transfer between flights

With only one small and very clear terminal serving the airport, transferring between flights is easy and quick.

Flights to Rodrigues

Most connecting passengers fly from an international destination to Rodrigues Island.

If you have both flights purchased on the same booking, you don't have to go out of the transit area. Upon arrival, you must go through passport control. Luggage in some cases is automatically re-transferred, always make sure before you fly to Mauritius.

After passport control, follow the "Domestic Connections" signs which will take you to a special transit security checkpoint. After this you will find yourself at departure gate 20, which is allocated to flights to Rodrigues.

If, on the other hand, you are flying from Rodrigues to an international destination, you will again pass through passport control first and take a special corridor to the international security checkpoint.

International transfer

Even if you are transferring between two international flights, you must go through passport and security control. You are therefore formally entering Mauritius and, unless you are from a visa-free country, you must obtain a visa.

However, Mauritius allows most countries in the world to have visa-free travel.

Passport control has a dedicated line for transfer passengers, so you will not be waiting more than 30 minutes.
