Shops and supermarket

The terminal is equipped almost exclusively with shops selling duty free goods or souvenirs.

All shops are up to security check.

In the public part of the arrivals hall you will find only a few shops with local sim cards.

There is no grocery store or pharmacy at the airport.

Dining options

There are more restaurants, cafes and fast-food outlets than shops and they are available in the international transit area and in the public area.

In the transit area of international flights, you can refresh yourself at the following restaurants:

  • Burger King
  • Paul
  • Green is Better
  • Café 8
  • L'Escale Mauricienne

The opening hours of these restaurants are adapted to the current flight schedule.

In the public area of the arrivals hall there is a Subway fast-food restaurant (7:00-0:00) and Paul's Bakery (7:00-22:00)

In the public area of the departure hall there is another bakery Paul and another café-restaurant on the 2nd floor.

Our tip for a cheap street bistro

If you're facing the terminal from the outside, head left through the tourist agency bus parking lot (past the section where domestic flights to Rodrigues are handled) and then up the sidewalk to the large parking lot.

In front of the public transport stop here you will find a very cheap bistro with local cuisine, mainly used by airport staff.

You can easily eat here from around 100 mur.

Luggage storage

There are no luggage lockers or traditional luggage storage at the airport.

ATMs and currency exchange

There are several currency exchange offices in the arrivals hall, but they usually offer a less favourable exchange rate than your bank or Revolut.

The public area of the airport is also equipped with ATMs from the following banks:

  • ABSA Bank
  • MCB
  • SBM

In most cases, foreign card withdrawals are charged at 50 mur or 75 mur.

ATMs can also be found in the transit area by the baggage claim and then outside the arrivals hall.

There are several kiosks in the departure hall where you can have your luggage wrapped in protective film for a fee 300 mur.

You can only pay in cash in Mauritian rupees, euro (7 eur), US dollar (8 usd), British pound (5 gbp) or South African rand (150 zar)
