Where are the arrivals and departures?
Koh Samui Airport is one of the most interesting airports in Thailand. The terminal is almost entirely open and resembles a tropical resort rather than a traditional airport building.
- Arrivals - arrivals hall at the exit of the runway
- 🛫 Departures and check-in counters - main open pavilion (for international flights you have to walk about 5 minutes)
The whole airport is very small and uncluttered. From the entrance you can get to the check-in desks in a few minutes.
When to be at the USM airport?
The airport primarily serves flights to Bangkok, but also has several regional routes (such as Singapore SIN).
- International flight: at least 2 hours before departure
- Domestic flight: 1-1.5 hours before departure
Security checks tend to be quick, but shorter queues of up to 15 minutes can form at peak times - especially for flights to Bangkok.
Is Koh Samui Airport open at night?
No. The airport does not have 24-hour operations.
The last flights usually depart in the evening and the airport closes afterwards. Night arrivals and departures are not common.
If you are departing early in the morning or arriving late in the evening, it may be more convenient to stay near the airport.
