Airport Hotels at Istanbul and Sleeping in the Terminal

Istanbul, Hagia Sofia

Looking for accommodation near Istanbul Airport during a layover or early morning departure?

Airport overnight stays - opening hours

The airport is open 24/7. Flight traffic remains very heavy throughout the night.

There are virtually no comfortable places to stay overnight in the public area. However, in the transit area you will find plenty of departure gates with carpeted floors and hidden places where you won't be disturbed.

Hotels at the airport

Currently, you'll only find one hotel, YOTEL, located directly in the terminal, or in the immediate vicinity of the airport. This hotel has two sections:

  • Yotelair – International Transit Area: it is located behind the security checkpoint in the transit area and tends to be slightly more expensive (prices 163 eur to 286 eur per night).
  • Yotel – City Entrance: access is from the public section, so it is open to everyone (not just passengers), prices range from 123 eur to 245 eur per night

Classic big hotels in the vicinity of the terminal are not working yet, but a new Hilton hotel is under construction near the metro station (about 5 minutes on the sidewalk from the terminal) (expected opening - 2027)

Hotels in the vicinity

You can stay in nearby neighbourhoods, but no hotel provides free transportation. On the contrary, transfers are usually very expensive and cost around 20 eur to 25 eur one way.

A good option is to stay in the Arnavutköy district, which can be reached by metro or bus line H-6, which also runs at night (route map and timetable: iett.istanbul/Route-H6).

In this district we would recommend, for example, a cheap (from 53 eur per night) Melanj Airport Hotel *** or the classic Hampton by Hilton ***.
