Qatar’s only airport serves as the hub for one of the world’s best airlines, Qatar Airways.
The new ‘Hamad’ Airport, which opened in 2014, is a popular transit point for flights from Europe to Asia or Australia and, of the ‘big three’ Arab transit airports – Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha – it is often rated as the most pleasant for transfers.
The airport complex is built on reclaimed land off the coast of the Persian Gulf, approximately 14 km from the centre of Doha.
