Ankara Esenboğa International Airport in a nutshell
Esenboga Airport is situated about 30 km north of the Turkish capital, Ankara, and is a major regional hub.
Ankara is home to AJet, the low-cost subsidiary of Turkish Airlines. Pegasus Airlines also has a significant base here.
Although Ankara Airport is relatively significant, it has no direct long-haul routes, and most of its traffic consists of very busy domestic routes – particularly to Turkey’s largest airports, Istanbul (IST ) and Istanbul-Sabiha Gökçen (SAW ) – as well as numerous direct flights to Western Europe and the Middle East.
