What services can I expect during my flight and transfer with China Southern Airlines?

Refreshments on board

China Southern Airlines provides complimentary refreshments on all its flights, even for economy class passengers.

For long-haul flights over 7 hours, you will always get two meals.

• 1 full hot meal
• 1 breakfast or a cold dinner if the flight departs or lands during night hours

On domestic flights within China or shorter regional flights you will usually get 1 hot meal.

Entertainment system

So-called In-Flight Entertainment will keep you entertained even on flights longer than 10 hours. There is a large selection of movies, series, documentaries or music or arcade games.

The on-board system is completely free.

Screens are located in every seat on all long-haul Boeing 787, Boeing 777, Airbus A350 and Airbus A330 aircraft.

In-flight wi-fi

On Boeing 777, Boeing 787 and Airbus A330 long-haul aircraft you can log on to wi-fi throughout the flight for a fee 258 cny.

Transfer hotel

China Southern offers all its passengers a free hotel with breakfast and transfer for long layovers.

There must be 6-30 hours between flights. You will only get a hotel if your flight does not depart until the next calendar day, even on the same calendar day if you land in China between 0:00 and 8:00.

This policy applies when transferring at Guangzhou CAN, Urumqi URC, Shenyang SHE, Beijing-Daxing PKX, Shenzhen SZX, Dalian DLC, Wuhan WUH, Changsha CSX and Zhengzhou CGO airports.

Who is eligible for the hotel?

All passengers are not automatically entitled to free hotel and typically the cheapest fare classes are excluded from this policy.

You will only receive a free hotel if your ticket is in fare class F, J, C, D, I, O, W, S, Y, P, B, M, H, K, U, A, L, Q, E, V, Z, T, N.

How to book a hotel?

It is not necessary to book the free hotel on transfer online, however, booking is recommended as there may be no rooms available on site.

Hotel reservations are available 180 days to 24 hours prior to departure, and can only be made at Guangzhou, Urumqi, Beijing-Daxing, Shenzhen and Shenyang airports.
