For the 6th largest airline in the world and the largest in Asia, the main hub is South China's huge Guangzhou CAN airport.

It has other bases spread across China, from where it operates extremely frequent domestic services as well as regional and long-haul international routes.

Until 2018, China Southern Airlines was a member of SkyTeam, but is currently not part of any multinational airline alliance.

The airline has more than 670 Airbus A319/320/321, Airbus A350, Airbus A330, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 777, Boeing 787 as well as Chinese-made Comac C909 and C919 aircraft in its fleet.
