You can check in online normally 24 hours - 2 hours before departure.

You can check in online at aa.com or via the American mobile app.

If you can't check in online, you can check in at the airport without any problems.

Seat selection (seating)

With a Basic fare ticket, you will pay a fee to select a specific seat. This varies according to the length of the route and ranges between 15 usd and 50 usd.

If you do not want to pay for a specific seat, you will be allocated a random seat for free.

On the more expensive Main Cabin, Premium Economy, Business or First fares you can choose a seat for free.
