West Village
The West Village is one of Lower Manhattan's neighborhoods and one of my favorites.
It has the feel of old traditional New York with its brick houses and iconic fire escapes.

Quiet streets and great food
Known for its quiet, tree-lined streets, the West Village is a great place to live compared to other parts of Manhattan.
That's one of the reasons why rents or apartment prices here are some of the highest in the city.
The neighborhood is also known for disrupting the regular rectangular street grid of Manhattan - the streets in the West Village face all the other major streets outside the neighborhood at different angles.
The West Village center around Bleecker Street is famous for its large number of cafes and restaurants.
