Honolua Bay

The best freely accessible snorkeling spot on the west coast can be found in the northern town of Kapalua.
Honolua Bay is great for easy beginner snorkeling, protected and without big waves, plus a beautiful beach so you won't be disturbed by other bathing visitors.
Snorkeling
Honolua Bay is a wonderful place to snorkel without having to pay for expensive trips to places further offshore.
Expect relatively shallow waters full of coral, colourful fish and even giant kareta turtles may make an appearance.
How to get there
Honolua Bay is only accessible by car. It's just off Route 30 on Maui's west coast.
Free impromptu parking is available along the road. From there, groomed paths lead to the sea (about 300 meters) to the rocky beach.
