One of Norway’s largest and most important museums is situated in the modern Bjørvika district.

The modern building, into which the museum moved in 2021, is one of the landmarks of the waterfront and is situated right next to the famous Opera House.

To the south of the building, in a public park open to the public free of charge, stands the sculpture *Moren*(Mother), created by the artist Tracey Emin in honour of Edvard Munch’s mother.
